wrongly mentioned in certificates, etc.
Regarding change of name of minor, the guardian has to submit the
requisite application on behalf of the minor.
For the government employees, name change may be required in government records. In the case of NRIs, a different procedure is prescribed. In some cases, the name is written in full form in some certificates and in short form in other certificates and the name is not coinciding or uniform and requires correction.
The prospective applicant has to mention details such as his present name, proposed new name, age and date of birth, father's name, mother's name, reason for change of name, address proof as per Photo ID proof such as Aadhar Card / Voter ID / Passport / Driving Licence / Nationalized Bank Passbook etc. A detailed procedure on a step-by-step basis is prescribed that has to be followed.
